Saving the Filipino Vote: A Voters' Education Webinar
Last May 7, 2022, the Grade 12 Humanities and Social Science students of Mr. Darren Joe G. Follero organized a voters' education webinar entitled Saving the Filipino Vote: A Voters' Education Webinar as part of their final performance task in the courses Creative Nonfiction/Malikhaing 'Di Katha and Philippine Politics and Governance. Mr. Albert C. Benaso, a third year Bachelor of Public Administration at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines College of Political Science and Public Administration and a councilor and Advocacy and Community Engagement Committee Head of the College of Political Science and Public Administration Student Council (CPSPA SC-PUP), served as the resource speaker of the event where he gave his talk entitled Panahon Natin, Boses Natin which focused on the vital role of the youth in the electoral process which was two days shy from the day of the webinar.
The said event was attended by students from the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila Senior High School, and was being watched by the public via livestream in the official Facebook page of Aba, Kabataan ang Daan! or ABAKADA, the non-partisan and educational organization established by the students that aims to educate the public about voter literacy.
The main objectives of the webinar were to encourage voters to participate in the whole electoral and governance
process to eventually effect informed political choices among the citizen voters to stress the
importance of one’s vote.
